Haha, I used to like Horror movies a lot, I'm of the generation of Splatter Horrors. I like 28 Days Later, Hellraiser, original Zombie films by Romero, those of Steven King's, Evil Dead, Omen, The Inugami Family, Ringu series...the list goes on. lol

Of course you can list another one. I know it's hard to narrow down favorite movies only to 10. lol My list was made of those that just popped in mind then, and I would def have different list at different times. lol You seem you had your days in 90's, did you? Sling Blade seems very interesting movie, thanks for the list!

    -Big Trouble in Little China
    -Ring
    -Song of the Sea
    -Akira
-Merlin (BBC film with Sam Neill)
    -Fantastic Mr Fox
    -The Princess Bride
    -Castle in the Sky
    -Kiki's Delivery Service
    -The Cabinet of Dr Caligari

There are many more great films these are just some of my favorites.

I watched Seven Samurai (1954) last night and I enjoyed it much.
It was one of the best movies I've watched.

I also watched Throne of Blood (1957) the night before last. It was great and too dark and tragedic too.

What's your suggestion from Japanese movies? I want to watch much more.

It's very hard to choose absolute favourites, so let's just say these are ten OF my favourites. :D

TBH I could have made my entire list out of films by Powell & Pressburger, but I've restricted myself to just the two! :)

    In alphabetical order, then...

Contraband (USA title "Blackout") - Powell & Pressbuger 1940

Céline et Julie Vont En Bateau - Jacques Rivette 1974

The General - Buster Keaton 1926)

HEDWIG & The Angry Inch - John Cameron Mitchell 2001

    I Know Where I'm Going! - Powell & Pressburger 1945

I Lived With You - Maurice Elvey 1933

The Man In The White Suit - Alexander McKendrick 1951

My Name Is Joe - Ken Loach 1998

Snow Cake - Marc Evans 2006

Sweet and Lowdown - Woody Allen 1999

I bet they are! And That's why I wondered. I haven't watched many movies but I always check their pages and read about them.

I didn't notice this thread got longer with the new lists! Why didn't the site notice me like it usually does??

Now if you guys write a bit of why you liked it, it would be great for others to actually check out the movies your listed!

I recently watched Roma by Alfonso Cuarón (the same director who did Gravity and Children of Men, which I liked a lot), very nostalgic and personal movie shot with intentionally flat images from distance, and it was very Yasujiro Ozu like and great. I loved his other films Y Tu Mamá También (2001), and it's a bit LGBTQ movie, too. I think he's very talented and has variety of methods (though Great Expectations sucked).

These are movies that I never get enough of no particular order:

    Atonement
    What´s eating Gilbert Grape
    Cider house rules
    About a boy
    Love Actually
    Four weddings and a funeral
    Dear Frankie
    What if
    Sideways
    Love and other disasters

And if I can cheat and add one more that would be Georgia Rule. If you ever want to see Lindsey Lohan doing a great job, this is the movie you need to see.

You have such a sweet list! Never expected anyone will bring up Cider House Rule, I've read the story and hadn't watched it yet, but you reminded me to do that now. I bought Atonement book, and hadn't read it, yet, so I'm getting busy on that, too. lol Are you British?
