*To be considered a work of art, the piece must transcend the image itself. It must induce the viewer to think about what emotion(s) the artist was feeling as they created the work and/or what emotion(s) the artist wanted the viewer to feel while viewing the work, what the artist was intending the viewer to think about, what message the artist wanted to convey to the viewer, and/or it must induce a sense of awe and/or wonder in the viewer. (Any one or combination of the foregoing will qualify.) Any work, from the simplest line drawing to the most elaborate painting can qualify. Representational art, Abstract art, and Non-objective art are all acceptable. All media are acceptable -- drawing, painting, photographic, sculpture, etc. Craftsmanship is a valid form of art, and members are encouraged to display images of the results of their craftsmanship here. These guidelines refer to images, art in the form of the written word will be addressed separately. Since even given these guidelines, art is still a subjective thing, a Moderator will review all postings of images on this site, and use their discretion as to whether of not the piece is acceptable for display on this site, and will remove any that are deemed t be unacceptable.
