Not sure sure how to broach this question so please bare with me- !and it's all in the name of self discovery:

On the rare occassion that I watch porn, I get physically aroused (erect). I'm quite confident in saying that it doesn't turn me on though...although sometimes get flushed/heart pounding. I also have 'side effects': namely I get gas, and then need the toilet - which tells me (I'm assuming) there's been a release of adrenaline. To be honest it feels kind of uncomfortable, as my stomach is knotting a little.

To confirm, this is straight. I rarely watch lesbian but i believe that has the same effect as straight.
Gay porn has zero effect on me- nothing happens at all. I've only watched a few times to see if it does turn me on.

I'm still of the opinion that I'm asexual and aromantic, but not sure if it's an innate part of me, or if something happened when I was younger that meant I've surpressed any feelings of desire. I must say that I get uncomfortable if I know a girl likes me, or if a girl thinks that I like her. Almost like 'oh no' she has control over me haha. Weird - very weird.

I don't mean to be insensitive to genuine aros and aces(as I could be one myself) but there are women that I've met and imagined going out with, so there is a genuine curiosity rather than complete disinterest - which is i feel is an important consideration.

I'm just posting regular threads to get an opinion of people in the same boat as me.
    Thanks all x

I'm pretty sure people that have gone through sexual trauma still experience attraction, despite some not having a desire to act on it.

Even if this were from trauma, labels can change. If you feel asexual best describes you now and things change later on, you can always change what you identify as. :)

I would fall somewhere on the grey-asexual scale and while I have had sex I have not enjoyed it. I do however have romantic attraction.

Porn to me is a means to an end, it’s a way of “clearing the pipes” to put it crudely or like scratching an itch. I don’t get any enjoyment out of it but there is a feeling of relief.
