So, I want to start using a gender neutral name when I'm around my friends, but I'm having trouble finding one that fits.
Here are the ideas that I have so far:
Ash- my initials, so it wouldn't be weird for people to call me that, but I have a friend named Ashlynn, so it could get confusing
Avi- seems a bit masculine, but I kinda like it
Wren/Ren- I'm naming a non binary character in a book this
    Aiden- same as Ari
    Sky/Skye- seems a bit feminine
Ailen- sounds like the name of a female book character, so has feminine connotations for me
    Aeron- same as Avi
Arin- a less masculine version of Aeron
Rowan- the name of a male book character, so has masculine connotations for me

Can I get people's opinions and/or suggestions please? It would be a big help!

    Hi there Panic!
Actually, Avi sounds really good to me - comes across as genuinely neutral. I don't get any masculine flavour in it, nor feminine. Easy to remember, too. :)

Good one! Gender-neutral and familiar enough to avoid the risk of anyone saying "What was that again?"

It would be minimum effort to use a variation of a name you already have.
What's your first name? Do you have any middle names?

    Yeah.....
Chris is my dad's name, so that's not really an option

I don't really feel comfortable saying my real name online, so...
I do have a middle name, (Shea) but I've always hated it.

I don't really hate the name my initials make, I actually kind of like it, so it's tied for one of my two favorites. I like Ash and Avi the best

I don't think think there's a chance in hell of anybody here identifying you in real life or tracking you anywhere based on your first or middle names. The world is simply too big. I asked simply because the administrative and social aspects of your life would be much simpler for you and people you know to just find a neutral version of your name, which most names have.

Shea is also a gender neutral name in of itself. However if you don't like it either, both the names you suggest sound good. Ash makes me think of the bloke from Pokemon or the Northern Irish band, so it sounds more male to me. But thats just my opinion. Ashley is a gender neutral name. I knew both guys and girls at school with it.

Sam is always a good one, it can go either way
There's also Ashton, Reese, Charlie, Finley, Blair, Hadley, and Jordan.

I don't think there are any gender neutral names you can get from Adara that I would like

Ok. The male equivalent of Adara is Adare. So naturally, the neutral version of this would be Adar. This is also a gender neutral name of Hebrew origin, Adara also being Hebrew as well as Irish, Greek and Arabic. Up to you.

Avi is a male Hebrew name -- אבי -- but who cares if you like it?
