I'm looking for some gender neutral name ides that start with a C. I'm genderfluid, and was planning on changing my name to Charlie, however my mother got a rabbit that she named Charlie, so that's off the table. I'd prefer something that sounds kind of cool, but not childish. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! I'm not gonna lie, I did laugh when I read that your preferred new name was stolen by your mom's rabbit. Anywho!
    How about:
    Chris/Cris?
    Corey/Cory?
    Cameron? (Camy?)
    Casey/Cacey?
    Channing?
    Christian?
    Colby?
    Corin/Corinne?
    Carson?
    Camden?
    Carling?
    Carlin? Carling?
    Carey?
    Cassidy?
    Char?
    Cadence?
    Cass?
    Castel? Castle?
    Chandler?
    Corwin?

Or if you're willing to use names that have subtle variations depending on their gender:

Carl / Carla or Carli or Carly?
    Clement/Clementine?

Or maybe some just plain fun ones???
    Chronos!
    Charybdis!
Calypso! (Greek has some fun ones!)
    Castiel!
    Chaucer!

Hope those are helpful! I'm very curious to find out when you decide on one!

does it have to start with a C? you could go with these:

    -Robin/Robyn
    -Riley
    -Lesley
    -Fio/Fiona
    ...

It doesn't match your criterion but I named my son Asa. It's strong and gentle.

Good luck with the process of choosing a gender neutral name. It is exciting to do and many of us know from personal experience, or great empathy, just how significant of a moment it can be in someone's life.

It sounds like you were leaning towards Carlin (which is a cool name by the way) but that could have changed since your post. Please let us know what name you decide on. We'd love the opportunity to congratulate you! :)

I went from Joseph to Jo.

Standing in Court with my friend by my side was the most amazing thing ever for me.

I know just how important this is.

    Best of luck - Jo

My advice? Take your time and ask friends who know you well if they think the name fits. This is not something you want to ever go through again. It took me 9 months and dozens of rejected names -- good names, beautiful names, they just weren't "my" name. I ended up with a currently very rarely used name, but it fits so well that no one ever forgets my "new" name (not all that new any more).

    Hugs,
    Audry Leigh
