Does anyone else just get rid of the feelings they feel for another guy as soon as they feel them? New guy at my volunteer job, around my age, pretty funny, but as soon as I feel a slight attraction I always shove the feeling down my throat so that they never resurface. I can't be with him, so what's the point of feeling anything for him, right? It's kind of sad, but it's become an instinctual thing for me to do now.

I can't tell you how many guys I've seen on Tv, in real life when I'm out and about, or what have you that I've stared at in passing and fantasized about.

A crush is a normal part of life. Maybe you could try being friends with this guy and go From there? Don't give up because you never know what might happen.

Nobody likes to be hurt, or frustrated, or disappointed -- but if we don't ever leave ourselves open to the possibility of love, how can we ever find it?

Granted, if you're sure a guy is straight, crushing on him is just an exercise in futility -- but you can't assume a guy is straight just because most guys are. (Well, actually you can assume it -- but sometimes you're going to be wrong)

If you can't break the habit, though, you should find ways to start meeting guys you know are gay, so you don't feel the need to self-sabotage.
