    Are you asking what we personally do to cheer our selves up and cope when we are depressed or are you asking a general question what can make you happy?

    normally i would have said i turn to the one person that can put a smile on my face just by saying "smile" i would try so hard to keep a straight face but it was like she was magic
    my question would be, what do you do when the reason that you have been happy is the reason you are depressed and just want to curl up and die?

    I usually either play video games or listen to positive music or drink or take a warm shower or even sleep it off if im depressed anything thats gonna shift your mood or get your mind focused on something else. the more you keep thinking about the problem the more depressed your gonna get and your even gonna add other thoughts of other problems that have nothing to do with the main issue and beat yourself up with these thoughts.

    idk. i guess loneliness? but i usually like to be alone and today i even went out and talked to ppl so i guess that couldn't bee it

    When I'm depressed I usually write or read (nerd-alert) I really like that bc it takes you to a totally different world where life isn't shit. Writing in particular. In my world I decide whats happening that's my safe spot you know. And if you're not a writer, just grab a book you really love and turn on some happy music and just forget everything that sucks. Add a warm bath and chocolates, and candles and a nice room and for some unexplainable reason the smell of coconut oil just makes everything better for me don't ask me why it just does.
    And seeing as I kinda suffer from insomnia as well, this way I can kill two birds with one stone. I calm down and forget everything and the lack of electronics makes it a lot easier to fall asleep. And if there's one thing that helps me it's a good night of sleep so that usually does it for me.
    And if that doesn't help I'm just an unapproachable crying mess in the shower. Or bed. Or where ever the hell I find myself at that moment :-|

    i understand that. specially fantasie books. those are the best to run away but i can't read my favorite book so that's kind of a problem :/

    because last time i read it it was in my old school and it was lent by the school so now that i'm in vacation i cant read it.
    maybe you've heard of it, it's called the never ending story

    Try being physically active. Make sure you are getting the right amount of rest. Get some amount of social stimulation.

    Take greater notice of your immediate surroundings, and spend some time getting acquainted with what you see. If you see a tree planted somewhere, take note of what kind of tree it is, especially if you don't see it often in the area. Take note of landscaping, and ask yourself whether a particular structure in someone's front yard looks more like professional workmanship or a father/son project...but let the question remain unanswered, since it's not that important to know for sure. The world around you is teeming with life. People create things for no reason except they take satisfaction in doing so, not even expecting to be thanked but just enjoying having something to do, which makes it nicer in a way for being so unassuming and humble.

    In general, pay more attention to your senses. Besides taking care of your health, that is often the best medicine.

    i love the movie but i don't know if it is any good compared to the book, movie often don't live up to their book counterparts
