So, I've called up my local GP and made a Dr's appointment, I am going to ask to see a specialist for transgender, I promised myself to makes steps for a happier life in 2020. This is one of my many big steps.

I'm also nervous about it because I in the NHS the waiting list is 2 years, I don't know if I can wait that long anymore, starting to be more honest to myself its showing me how unhealthy I was mentally n physically in the past and I refuse to return to that type of life but im struggling right now with dysphoria.

I've planned to move out this year, told my parents I AM moving out, if they want to support me then please help me to find a place and make it happen. (even if this is the last thing they will do before disowning me) and when I moved out and settled. I will tell my parents, no idea how but by this time I have enough answers for them to show "no its not a phase" like they thought about my sexuality. (which they refuse to accept and pretend never happened.)

Tonight, Im meeting up with my best friend since highschool (like DAY 1 of highschool we became friends) I told him once I may be bisexual (when i was figuring out who i was) and we never really had a deep convo about sexuality and gender, I know he supports LGBTQ community but I am still scared of telling.
"Im pansexual and trans" I wont say bluntly like that but you get my point I hope?

Either way, End of 2020, I will be more Myself, Moved out, and either disowned or temporary kicked out of the family until my parents come to terms. (My only fear right now is being homeless and unable to support my other half who is being amazing at supporting me, losing my best friend and my sisters.)

Scared... but forever being happy is better than forever being depressed and afraid.

I was going to give you a good luck hug but I changed my mind...here's a regular one. I'll save the good luck one for someone who needs it. You already got this! ;)

Here's to you becoming even closer to your true self this year and in all the years to come!

    Hi Riley :D

I hope that everything goes well for you.

With regards to the process in the UK, make a Dr appointment as soon as you are able, they should make a referral for the Clinic for you. If you get told any different, then look for the Hammersmith Gender Identity Clinic on google and read their website. It is a bit hard to look though, but should tell you about the referral process that your doctor should provide for you.

Also yes the wait time for the first appointments are about 2 years, so its best to get the referral in quick. I can give the details in the whole process if you would like, but it is a bit of a wait in the UK. But you can get there.

This year start the referral and look at getting a secure home, this will help you in the long run :D

I hope this helps and as I mentioned above I am happy to go into further details ^^

    ~Fiona.

    Hi Riley :D

(The below is what I wrote to your reply on my profile ^^, was a bit to long to put there xD )
If your Dr told you to 'Google it' then a new doctor may be needed. Mine knew nothing of the process but was really helpful, its a shame she has now left and my new doctor is also no good, but I don't need him now, but at the start they are what you need. If your Dr does not refer you, request a new one at the same surgery or try another surgery if a new one where you are is not an option. the only problem with that is that it could take more time.

I don't like putting links here (usually as you just cannot tell where you will end up sometimes, but here is usually pretty safe) but ive put it here for the clinic. Ofc this is a London clinic, so depending on where you live may depend on what one is better for you, but there are only about 5-6 in the whole of the UK.

I will be more than happy to chat in a PM :D

    ~Fiona.
