    Hi everyone,

I'm 32 and it's taken me until now to figure out that I find women more than just attractive. I m on a dating app and am planning to go on my first dates soon. I'm just nervous and wonder should I tell them that for some reason it's taken me until now figure out I'm lesbian, or not? I'm worried about being judged, regarding why it too so long, or that I'm not experienced enough.

Any one with a similar experience who can give any advice?

    Thanks!

First, welcome to a safe and wonderful site.

Second, Happy you have embraced who you are.

Last, being scared is natural. Take things slow, be you, enjoy, and know the first touches will send shivers throughout your body.

I am happy and proud of and for you.

    Long soft hug - Jo

Geesh, 32 isn't that old! Some gals don't come out till way later. I don't think you have to justify anything. Sure, mention it as part of your background but don't dwell on it.

I’m as doubled as old than you’re now and still in the closet. I’m happy for you that you took the decision to stand up for yourself and live your active queer life. I’m sure you will meet people of all types respective coming to terms with inner feelings and coming out. I wish you to find your female knight in shining armour.

First of all, you’re certainly not old! Second of all, I don’t think you owe them an explanation. People grow and change at different paces. It’s okay it took you a bit longer. And the experience thing shouldn’t be an issue either. If it comes up or you feel comfortable, just explain that you’re a little nervous because this is new to you. If they’re someone worth being with they’ll do their best to make you feel at ease. Don’t be afraid to take things slow.

Thanks for the support guys! I thought it's weird coming out this late. Seems like so many people have figured this out sooner. I mean it was always there, but I managed to just ignore my feeling and bury them. Took me til now to just accept myself. But it feels great!

I can out at 41, still haven't been on a date. I think you will be okay though and just hope for the best be prepared for the worst. If the worst happens you are young you've got time to find someone

Tell me how to look properly lol that's the part I don't know. I didn't date before I was out. I don't even know any other lesbians. My few "encounters" have been with bi women
