Yeah, they named 2 actresses by name. Also a big time fashion designer (currently unnamed). I have mixed emotions about the wealthy doing this kind of thing. I kind of get it, but it pisses me off when I think about the more deserving regular kids who were passed up because of this. I think the impact of today's story is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's one thing to pay for a building or a wing in the hopes of getting your kid admitted. But this kind of fraud goes WAY over the line. Especially when there is a money laundering scam where the parents can write off the payment as a charitable contribution!

It is just another instance of the rich have an unfair advantage. Even the legal means available gives them an advantage not available to the middle and lower class folks. Then you have stuff like this where some rich scumbags break the law to get even more advantage.

    Exactly!!

To be fair, and in the interest of full disclosure, I paid $5,000 back in the 80's to get a fake college degree (complete with transcripts). BUT.. I had the knowledge and experience that warranted my getting the job that required the degree. And I was very successful at my job. I never felt guilty about "cheating the system" in that case. This is quite different.

Sounds similar to my dad and two of my uncles forging their highschool diplomas. It's different when someone who doesn't have an edge does something, "highly questionable," to get an edge. Poor folks have a hard enough time competing with those with a social or financial advantage.

Yeah, that's me lol. Guilty as charged. I'll also say that I had to take out a loan to do it. Because of the high interest rate I think I actually paid close to $7500 in the end. But it boiled down to my own personal grit and determination. It was not handed to me.

This is why I generally consider most wealthy people bad people. They use it as some sort of free pass while the rest of us get f***ed over. Socialism for the rich I call it.

Well I'm not without my deviousness. I've lied on job applications in the past saying that I had skills I didn't possess for example I said I was a skilled forklift driver when I wasn't as well as being knowledgeable with Excel and Outlook. Oh, and that I knew SQL when I didn't.

Funny. Through self study I became a guru at Excel/Access VBA and SQL. Those skills related to the job I applied for. It required an associates degree (which is the fake degree I purchased). Once I got the job I ended up being the training leader for the department. I was the point of contact for VBA and SQL issues lol.

I started out in a manufacturing plant as a cleaner and paint line assistant but when one of our regular forklift driver was injured. So I told them I could do it and filled in for him until he could work again then they kept me on as second driver. Then I got injured and they put me in the office proofing blue prints and keeping up with versioning of the prints. Their payroll and inventory specialist got another job and she asked me if I was any good with computers. I then told her that I was good with all the Microsoft Office when I was only good with Word and PowerPoint. Then she asked me if I was any good with SQL and I lied my pants off. Between work and self study I learned it but I wouldn't consider myself an expert. So yeah, I stretched myself a bit thin, lol.

This is outrageous. Another example of the rich abusing their privilege. Free college for all!

Crazy! My friend was saying she was wondering if there was a similar scandal that got Trump into college.
